Belgiqa reinforced its pioneering role in the parquet sector

This takeover will enable Belgiqa to expand its range with the most unique palette of colours available on the market today.

Belgiqa has enjoyed a reputation as Belgium’s most innovative high-end brand of parquet flooring for many years. What once started as a company under the wings of Woodstoxx has since grown into an international concept in the world of parquet. Just over a year ago, Belgiqa surprised the parquet flooring market by announcing its partnership with Miva Parket and Vanlandschoot Hout. This joining of forces was intended to increase production capacity and strengthen the company’s international position. Belgiqa has been running full steam ahead ever since, with about a hundred distribution points in the Benelux, Germany, the UK, the US, Canada, France and Switzerland. In the year of the coronavirus pandemic, Belgiqa’s turnover increased by more than 50% and the forecast for the year ahead is promising indeed. Belgiqa is known as an innovative brand of unique parquet and flooring and is now confirming this position through its acquisition of Tintobois.

Tintobois – with Sarah Boelaert (pictured here) as its figurehead – has been renowned for years due to the unique, weathered finish of its oak parquet floors. This takeover will enable Belgiqa to expand its range with the most unique palette of colours available on the market today. Together, they worked on developing a new collection based on forgotten species of wood during the past few months, which will be launched very soon.

A decision has also been taken to build a brand new, state-of-the-art finishing centre in Ledegem, where the three existing production sites in Menen, Zwevezele and Ledegem will be brought under one roof. This new production site will be taken into commission on 1 September 2021. These two activities will allow Belgiqa to expand its capacity in the finishing industry and reinforce its pioneering role in the parquet sector. Innovation will become the company’s primary point of focus.

And the ultimate goal? ‘It is our ambition to provide the entire world with the ideal hardwood floor,’ says Grégory Minne (CEO of Belgiqa, on the left in the photo), with a twinkle in his eye. ‘We are genuinely convinced that we have a unique product and are therefore looking forward tremendously to the further expansion of our international adventure.’
