There are more determining factors for the appearance of a floor than just the colour. Certain finishing techniques can give your parquet floor a whole new dimension. Whether you want your floor brushed, aged or finished with a bandsaw, each technique will give your floor a unique, original look.
BRUSHED
Do you like the effect of a distinctive texture and a clearly defined wood grain? Brushed floorboards might be exactly what you’re looking for. This type of flooring is treated with steel brushes, which removes the soft wood fibres and brings out the unique patterns in the wood grain.
AGED
Aged floorboards lend your interior that highly soughtafter touch of authenticity. The planks are placed in a drum with nails and pebbles. After this treatment, this results in a floorboard with dents, scratches and indentations which create a distinctive, aged hardwood floor.
BAND SAW EFFECT
If you’re looking for a more robust, hand-crafted look, the bandsaw effect might be just the thing for you. The bandsaw creates fine lines on the surface, giving it the traditionally crafted look of freshly sawn floorboards.
The choice of pattern has a big impact on the look of an interior. The choice is yours and the possibilities are endless.
TRADITIONAL PLANKS
The most common parquet pattern for sleek and modern interiors.
CHEVRON
A parquet floor in chevron consists of strips of the same dimensions, of which the ends are cut at an angle of 45° to 60° and that are laid parallel to each other to form parallel patterns.
HERRINGBONE
Herringbone parquet fits in with every living style, from classic to modern. A herringbone parquet consists of elongated planks, which are laid against each other in a herringbone pattern.
ALTERNATING WIDTHS
Belgiqa boards are available in many different widths. If you combine those with each other, it creates a beautiful and unique effect.
VERSAILLES
Versailles parquet consists of premounted square wooden panels with a pattern of interlocking diagonals. It takes its name from the Palace of Versailles for which it was designed to replace the marble floors.
